1. Lucite Tray

Chelsea from Two Twenty-One shows us how to make a lucite tray for under $15. Using an acrylic tray that she bought from the Container Store, and Photoshop to create the pattern, Chelsea makes a simple and elegant tray to hold her jewellery.

2. Greek Key Fabric Lined Tray

This is a great tutorial by Centsational Girl on how to spice up a lacquer tray from West Elm with fabric from Jonathan Adler. She uses scotch gaurd, spray adhesive, scissors, fabric and the grey tray to create a pop of yellow in her home.

3. Paper Mache Tray

EverythingLEB went all out and actually created her own tray using paper mache and a brownie tray as a mold. The final product is simple and stunning - a turquoise bowl with a gold filling.

4. Monogrammed Dish

Belle in The City wrote a great post a few months ago on making her own DIY Monogrammed Dish. The outcome is an adorable tray that can be used for jewellery or hair accessories, and adds a touch of sophistication. You'll need the following things:

White plate, bowl, or dish
Acrylic paint
Sharpie
Modge Podge
Paint brushes
Painter's tape

Good Luck!

5. Chevron Serving Tray

Lovely Indeed made her serving tray from a wine box - so sustainable! What I love about this tutorial is that its open to edits. You don't necessarily have to use the same chevron pattern that she used, in fact you could leave the tray as it is for a 'rustic' vibe.
